The Falcon Lake Incident represents one of Canada's most thoroughly investigated UFO encounters.
The Encounter
On May 20, 1967, Stephen Michalak, a 51-year-old amateur prospector, observed two glowing disc-shaped objects near Falcon Lake in Manitoba. One object landed—approximately 15 feet tall and 40 feet wide, featuring an open door with bright lights.
Physical Evidence
The incident produced documented burn injuries on Michalak's chest displaying a distinctive grid-like pattern. He experienced symptoms consistent with radiation exposure, including weight loss, persistent digestive issues, and severe headaches.
Official Investigation
Multiple agencies investigated the case, including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canadian military, and the United States Air Force.
Lasting Impact
Michalak's account remained consistent until his death in 1999. His son later published "When They Appeared: Falcon Lake 1967: The Inside Story of a Close Encounter."
