Liquids

Can I bring sunscreen on a plane?

The short answer

Yes — 100 ml or less in carry-on, any reasonable size in checked baggage.

Carry-on: Restricted
Checked: Yes

Sunscreen counts as a liquid or gel even in stick form if it is soft enough to spread. Solid sticks are usually accepted; lotions and sprays are not, above 100 ml.

Sun destinations charge airport-shop prices for sunscreen. Packing a full-size bottle in your checked bag is the cheaper move.
