Can I bring a vape on a plane?

The short answer

Yes in carry-on, never in checked baggage — and you may not use or charge it on board at any point.

Carry-on: Yes
Checked: No

Vapes contain lithium batteries and are banned from the hold for the same reason as power banks. Airlines also prohibit charging them in flight.

E-liquid counts toward your 100 ml liquids limit in carry-on. Pack bottles in your transparent liquids bag.

Several countries — including Thailand, Singapore and India — ban vapes outright, with penalties on arrival.
