Lufthansa Baggage Allowance
Lufthansa allows one cabin bag of up to 8 kg plus one small personal item in Economy. The 8 kg limit is real and is weighed at European airports far more often than North American travellers expect. Lufthansa sells Economy Light, Classic and Flex. Light carries no checked bag — a frequent trap on intra-European connections booked as part of a long-haul itinerary.

How fees work
Extra and prepaid bags are cheaper online than at the airport. Miles & More status adds allowances on Star Alliance itineraries.
Overweight bags
Overweight charges apply from 23 kg to 32 kg. Bags above 32 kg must travel as cargo.
Oversize bags
Oversize charges apply above 158 cm total linear dimensions, to a maximum of 292 cm.
