British Airways Baggage Allowance

British Airways allows one cabin bag plus one full-size laptop bag or handbag on every fare, in every cabin. Both pieces may weigh up to 23 kg each — by far the most generous cabin allowance among major transatlantic carriers. BA sells Basic, Plus and Plus Flex fares. Basic includes no checked bag on short-haul and, on some long-haul routes, only hand baggage. Club World and First carry the largest allowances.

How fees work

Extra bags cost less when added online before departure. Executive Club Bronze, Silver and Gold members receive additional allowances.

Overweight bags

Overweight charges apply from 23 kg to 32 kg. Bags above 32 kg are not accepted.

Oversize bags

BA allows a generous 208 cm total linear dimensions before oversize charges apply.
