Checked bags are paid on domestic Main Cabin and Basic Economy. AAdvantage elite status, Citi/Barclays AAdvantage cards and premium cabins provide free allowances.

How fees work
Bag fees are charged per bag, per direction, and are discounted when prepaid online more than 24 hours before departure.
Overweight bags
Overweight fees apply from 23 kg (50 lb) to 32 kg (70 lb); bags above 32 kg are not accepted on most routes.
Oversize bags
Oversize fees apply above 157 cm (62 in) total linear dimensions, to a maximum of 320 cm.
