Air Canada Baggage Allowance
Every Air Canada fare, including Basic Economy, includes one standard carry-on bag plus one personal item at no extra charge. Air Canada does not publish a weight limit for cabin baggage, but you must be able to lift your bag into the overhead bin unassisted. Checked baggage on Air Canada depends on your fare brand, your route and your Aeroplan status. Basic and Standard economy fares on most routes carry a fee for the first checked bag; Flex and above typically include one.

How fees work
Bag fees are charged per direction and are cheaper when prepaid online than at the airport counter. Aeroplan Elite status and several Aeroplan co-branded credit cards waive the first-bag fee for the cardholder and companions on the same booking.
Overweight bags
Bags from 23 kg to 32 kg incur an overweight fee. Above 32 kg, the bag is refused as checked baggage and must ship as cargo.
Oversize bags
Bags over 158 cm (62 in) in total length + width + height incur an oversize fee, up to a maximum of 292 cm.
